Abstract

Motion compensation is a crucial step to parameter estimation and imaging of ballistic missile targets during inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) sensing, and envelope correction is the foundation of motion compensation. However, the traditional envelope correction methods in ISAR processing are not suitable for ballistic missile targets due to their special movement. Aiming at this problem, an envelope correction method based on multi-layer perceptron (MLP) for precession cone targets in the terahertz region was proposed in this paper. Then a 330 GHz imaging radar was introduced and experiment on a precession cone model was carried out. The experimental results and the performance analysis verified the validity and usability of the proposed method.
