Characterization of UV-induced absorption and scattering losses in photosensitive fibers

Abstract

We present a technique to measure the absorption coefficient increment induced during the UV-inscription of gratings in photosensitive fibers. Our technique also allows discriminating between the absorption and scattering contributions to the overall losses.
