Hybrid Vanadium Dioxide Plasmonic Electro-Optical Modulator based on Race-Track shaped Resonator

Abstract

An optical modulator based race-track shaped resonator utilizing the phase change properties of Vanadium dioxide. An extinction ratio of 8.45 dB and an insertion loss of 1.85 dB is achieved at the telecommunications wavelength (1.55 µm).
