Time-reversal invariant scaling of light propagation in one-dimensional non-Hermitian systems

Abstract

We prove the existence of a universal scaling that gives identical transmittance and reflectance in time-reversed partner systems with arbitrary gain/loss profile. Such robust scaling generalizes the photon-flux conservation in non-Hermitian systems.
