On-chip Trapping of Protein and Nanoparticles Using Thermoplasmonic Nanohole Metasurface

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate thermoplasmonic nanohole metasurfaces as a novel platform for low optical power trapping of small protein molecules and nanoparticles. This device platform could enable new possibilities in nanobiosensing and nanoscale optofluidic cytometry.
