Carotenoid-Mediated Light Harvesting in Plants

Abstract

We utilize ultrabroadband two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy to map out energy flow in plants across the visible range. Our results reveal that a carotenoid in LHCII mediates the large energy gap via a previously-debated dark state.
