Silicon-on-Insulator Ring Resonators as Micro-Optical Devices for Phosphate Sensing

Abstract

A silicon-on-insulator (SOI) microresonator coated with amine functionalized silanes was used to detect the phosphate ions in aqueous solutions as an online real-time sensor. Trace level phosphates were detected to parts per million (ppm) levels.
