What can we learn from the waves scattered off Mie particles trapped in an evanescent field?

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In this presentation, we will highlight our most recent work in the field of optical force spectroscopy. Using a Mie particle, trapped in the evanescent field, we are able to visualize the force field acting on the particle. The technique combines a lock-in algorithm and advanced Mie simulations to obtain force measurements with unprecedented accuracy. Finally, we highlight the rich dynamics that occurs when varying different parameters in the setup.
