Lightwave control of Dirac electrons and the valley pseudospin

Abstract

We observe terahertz-driven all-ballistic Dirac currents on the topological insulator Bi2Te3 and subcycle switching of the valley pseudospin in monolayer WSe2. The results encourage practical electronic and valleytronic devices operating at optical clock rates.
