Low-loss Materials for Active Mid-infrared Photonics and Plasmonics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Phase-change materials (PCMs) exist in at least two stable phases showing a pronounced refractive index contrast and a very low absorption in the mid-infrared. Hence, they became a promising platform for programmable metamaterials and metasurfaces.
