Self-Heating Induced Bistability in Metal-Clad Semiconductor Nanolasers

Abstract

“Thermal rollover” is generally considered as the limitation imposed on the nanolaser performance. Here, we demonstrate how turn it into a unique self-heating induced optical bistability, which can be further exploited in optical data processing.
