Optical Dielectric Metasurfaces for use as Self-Stabilizing Laser Sails

Abstract

We demonstrat that a self-stabilizing ‘laser sail’-style spacecraft can be created using a metasurface as the sail material due to the metasurface’s ability to create arbitrary wave-fronts.
