Abstract
Nonlinear organic materials including small molecules and polymers have enabled numerous advances in flexible photonics and electronics. By grafting oriented monolayers of small molecules on the surface of optical resonators, we have improved the nonlinear performance of the devices. Numerous nonlinearities including Stokes/Anti-Stokes generation are observed. Density functional theory and finite element method modeling are performed to understand the mechanism giving rise to the improvement.
