Abstract

It is clear that multiplexing will play an important role in future fiber-optic sensor systems. Previously, a time division multiplexing (TDM) approach . was reported that was limited by low average laser power and laser pulse instability.1 in this paper we describe a more advanced multiplexing approach that uses pulse compression techniques to overcome effectively most of the signal-to-noise limitation of the prior TDM method.
