Abstract
Through the use of a second-order cross-correlation technique (second harmonic detection) between a reference pulse and, the weak signal backscattered from the fiber, we are able to time resolve the backscattered beam with an accuracy better than 0.2 psec (hence a spatial resolution of 60 μm).
