Abstract

We report the first demonstration of dispersionless picosecond injection laser pulse transmission through a long-length single-mode fiber at the minimum chromatic dispersion wavelength. An InGaAsP injection laser with center wavelength near 1315 nm, the minimum chromatic dispersion wavelength of a 27-km-long single-mode fiber was pulsed by gain-switching to generate 60 ps pulses for pulse transmission studies.
