Progress in the development of long- wavelength photodetectors

Abstract

We discuss results obtained for various photodetecting devices based on the InGaAsP system for use in long-wavelength optical communication systems and show that a considerable variety of high-quality detectors for the 1-1.6-μm wavelength region has been demonstrated.
