Abstract

Optical feedback noise of index-guided semiconductor lasers has been widely investigated. However, conventional index-guided lasers easily oscillate in several longitudinal modes by laser output and carrier density fluctuation. Although a paper was reported on the feedback noise of DFB lasers,1 feedback effects on single-mode oscillating lasers have not been fully clarified.
