Fiber-optic laser Doppler velocimeter using an external-cavity semiconductor laser

Abstract

The performance of interferometric fiber-optic sensors depends on the spectral purity of light sources. Here we demonstrate the fiber-optic laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV)1 using an external-cavity semiconductor laser2 having a narrow spectral linewidth.
