Abstract

Stimulated Raman scattering and stimulated four-photon mixing (SFPM) in optical fibers are useful for efficient frequency conversion and generation of new frequencies over wide spectral ranges In the near-IR region.1 Also, applications in optical amplification of weak optical signals have been demonstrated for high-speed and long-distance transmission systems.2
