Abstract
An optical rotary joint is an important addition to the field of fiber-optic communications. It allows transmission of optical signal across a rotating interface. To this date, the only electrically passive and low-loss optical rotary joint is limited to one channel only.1,2 In this paper we present an optical rotary joint which can couple optical signals from two rotating fibers to two stationary fibers (i.e., two-independent-channel optical rotary joint).
