Abstract

For designing the polarization compensators in coherent optical communication systems, it is important to know the fluctuation characteristics of the state of polarization (SOP) In cabled fibers. Hitherto, for static stress conditions, the spectral characteristics of the fluctuation in an Installed cable have been reported.1
