Analysis of the polarization fluctuation in a single-mode fiber with continuous random coupling

Abstract

It is well known that there is slow polarization fluctuation in coherent optical transmission systems using conventional single-mode fibers.’ We give a theoretical analysis to describe the characteristics of the fluctuation.
