Next-Generation ROADM Employing Bandwidth-Adaptive Silicon-Photonic Filters for Flexible Drop Operation

Abstract

As one step in realizing next-generation flexible ROADMs, we demonstrate the effectiveness of a bandwidth-adaptable silicon-photonic filter, through transmission experiments on 10-Gbps OOK, 40-Gbps DQPSK, 100-Gbps DP-QPSK, 400-Gbps 2-subchannel DP-16QAM, and 1-Tbps 5-subchannel DP-16QAM signals.
