Highly Mode Selective 3-Mode Photonic Lantern through Geometric Optimization

Abstract

We demonstrated that core geometry has a great impact on mode selectivity of photonic lanterns and designed an optimized 3-mode photonic lantern with >20 dB mode selectivity and >95% coupling efficiency for all modes.
