Experimental Study of Distributed Massive MIMO (DM-MIMO) in In-building Fiber-Wireless Networks

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate up to 10x greater system capacity using Distributed M-MIMO compared to Collocated M-MIMO in an indoor environment. We further show that user-distribution-driven antenna placement enables significant infrastructure savings up to 25%.
