Abstract

This paper proposes a framework leveraging next-generation interfaces and C+L-band to design transport networks where fiber-based capacity upgrade is geographically-dependent. Simulation results highlight the effectiveness of the proposal and the possible trade-offs between number of line interfaces and fibers.
