Compensating model of nonlocal effects in a Brillouin optical time-domain analysis system

Abstract

A novel model for compensating the nonlocal effects is proposed in BOTDA. A basic experimental configuration is only required. Experimental results show that a hotspot at 39.1 km can be accurately measured under probe power from -14 dBm to +2 dBm, and a 13.5 MHz Brillouin frequency shift error is corrected.
