On the Sample Complexity of Phase-Retrieval Receiver Based on 2-D Arrayed Photodetectors

Abstract

Sample complexity, or equivalently the required number of photodetectors, of a carrierless phase-retrieving coherent receiver is investigated numerically based on the experimental data; it can achieve comparable complexity to conventional coherent receivers.
