Abstract

By means of heterodyne technique various quantities such as temperature, pressure, strain, displacement, rotation(gyro), magnetic and electric fields, current, film thickness and optical constants can be measured with high precision, high stability, large dynamic range and also at distant points. The actual sensing schemes and typical performances are presented.
