Implicit mesh-based Monte Carlo algorithm for light transport in highly-complex tissues

Abstract

We propose an implicit mesh-based Monte Carlo algorithm utilizing the edges, nodes and faces in a tetrahedral mesh to facilitate light-simulations in highly-sophisticated tissues, showing hundreds-fold reduction in memory usage.
