Spectral management for temperature control in photovoltaic systems

Abstract

Today’s photovoltaic panels can generate 3–4 times more heat than electricity, degrading performance and heating the surroundings. We assess spectral management approaches to minimize this heating or recover waste heat for useful purposes.
