Hollow Nano-Magnetic Resonators Mediated by Photo-Thermal Effects: Towards the Realization of Highly-Tunable Mid-Infrared Negative Permeability

Abstract

Using a rigorous-coupled-wave analysis combined with a thermo-optical sensitivity prediction scheme, we show that nano-engineered magnetic resonators exhibit strong tunable magnetic response in mid-infrared, which can be effectively used for realizing a negative magnetic permeability.
