Bidirectional Pumping for Entangled Photons

Abstract

We propose a bidirectional pumping scheme to increase the efficiency of entangled photon pair generation at telecom wavelengths. Simulation results with 25ps/40 MHz Gaussian pulses show 26% increase in signal power and 33% decrease in pump power required to generate same signal power as in the unidirectional pumping.
