Abstract

Self-Similar pulses have attracted much interest in recent years due to their unique properties and attractive features for high power lasers and amplifiers. In this paper we extend the class of self-similar solutions to the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation to Rectangular pulses, show how they could be generated experimentally and discuss practical applications.
