Fast Interrogation of Equally-Spaced Arrays of Fiber Bragg Gratings Using Sparse Incoherent OFDR

Abstract

An I-OFDR interrogator of equally-spaced FBG arrays based on sparse sampling of the RF response and IDFT demodulation is shown to retrieve coarse reflectivity values with interrogation times as low as 10 μs per FBG.
