Signal Processing Opportunities for Next Generation >100 Gb/s DWDM and Single-λ Data Communication Networks

Abstract

We review recent advances in IM/DD systems and demonstrate how by exploiting low complexity and novel DSP structures, severely band-limited PAM-4 and OOK signals at 100 Gb/s+ may be implemented in DWDM and single-λ networks.
