Abstract

This paper presents a 12.8-Gbps NRZ-to-QPSK modulator system-on-a-chip (SoC) with an integrated transmitter operating at 28-32 GHz for 5G hybrid fiber-wireless networks. Implemented using a standard 65-nm CMOS process, the SoC also integrates an on-chip 850-nm photodetector.
