Abstract

Optical fiber sensors have now been studied and developed for over 25 years and as they are successfully transferred from research labs to the real world, standardization issues become very important and threaten to limit the growth of the entire industry. A discussion about the need for application related standardization of the entire supply chain for optical fiber sensors is presented as well as our group’s latest results and an approach to overcome this problem.
