Metal-Coated Silica Fiber Sensor for High-Power Laser Radiation Measurement

Abstract

A novel technique of fiber laser power measurement is presented. Optical power transmitting through a copper-coated silica fiber sensor is determined by measuring the metal coating electric resistance change due to the scattered radiation absorption.
