Partially Coated Long Period Fiber Bragg Gratings in Multicore Optical Fibers

Abstract

We study the use of multicore optical fibers for external refractive index sensing taking advantage of the spatial distribution of the cores by partially coating the surface of the optical fiber with a thin film SnO2 layer.
