Time resolved imaging for tumor diagnosis and detection of chemotherapy response

Abstract

Early response of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic drugs were studied using novel fluorescence tools and microscopy techniques. We applied two-photon fluorescence lifetime imaging (microscopy and in vivo imaging) to assess metabolic and oxygen changes in cancer cells in different tumor models. The dynamics of energy metabolism, intracellular pH, oxygen under chemotherapy were evaluated. In patients with skin neoplasia using of optical imaging, including FLIM, we have showed possibilities to distinguish benign and malignant pigmented lesions.
