Nonlinear Focusing of Ultrashort Laser Pulses in Atmospheric Turbulence

Abstract

We model propagation of laser pulses with powers larger than the critical power of air through turbulence and determine the probability of producing filamentation at long range. We discuss laboratory experiments to validate the model.
