Abstract

A convenient spectral reference detector for the visible to 12-μm region has been developed. The device consists of a large area PVF2 pyroelectric detector enclosed in a hemispherical light trap. Based on theoretical and experimental evaluations, the detector response is independent of wavelength to ±1% over this spectral range.
