Abstract
This paper describes the digital restoration method of incoherent bandlimited images in the presence of noise. The restoration procedure consists of spatial frequency filtering and a superresolution algorithm. The superresolution or the spectral extrapolation is performed by using both the Gerchberg algorithm and our modified one. The modified technique employs a priori information based on prototype images and provides more desirable results than the original Gerchberg algorithm. Some results of computer simulations are presented which indicate the effectiveness and several problems of the proposed method.
