Abstract

Recently, good reconstructions from bleached reflection holograms, which are rehalogenated without fixing, have been reported. In this paper the properties of those holograms, such as diffraction efficiency, signal-to-noise ratio, and spectral response, are investigated. The holograms are recorded on Agfa-Gevaert 8E75 HD plates with a He–Ne laser, and the processing conditions to optimize their properties are determined by considering the hologram formation mechanism.
