Abstract

A new calculation of the local hemispherical effective emissivities along an isothermal diffuse cylindrical-inner-cone cavity has been made. Results are presented for cylindrical inner cones with dimensions such that the effective emissivities along the inner cones and the surface nearby are very close to unity. Comparison is made between Bedford–Ma techniques and the present method for a cone half-angle of 90°. The results show that high accuracy can be obtained with our method, especially for cavities with high surface emissivity, long cylinder length, and small aperture radius.
