Abstract

The infrared spectra of the ν4, ν5,ν6, and ν8 fundamentals of formaldoxime, CH2NOH, have been obtained in the gas phase at high resolution and analyzed in detail. The region covered is from 5 to 14 μm. Since the molecule has Cs symmetry, in principle all these bands are AB hybrids, since they belong to the irreducible representation A. However, it was found that all possess a dominant A component. The main results (in inverse centimeters) for the excited states are these:
